Being like Joe Six-Pack doesn't come cheap [Oct. 22nd, 2008|01:32 pm]
Well the RNC has showed the general population that being like and dressing like the average Joe Six Pack doesn't come cheap.  The RNC has allowed Sarah Palin to spend more then $150,000.00 on clothing and make-up for herself, her husband and infant son, just since she was selected as John McCain's running mate.  The McCain campaign has been running on a platform on being there for the average American, that they are better suited to handle the economy when most people are struggling to pay their house payment, buy groceries and put gas in the car, however spending $150,000.00 on clothes, yes clothes, is somehow OK and needed?  The McCain campaign is quick to point out that bringing this subject up when there are more important issues facing the country right now is remarkable, however isn't this just the problem facing the average American family right now, the problem of not having enough money to afford the simple things.  However, it is perfectly all right to dress up the running mate in $3,500.00 jackets, just so that they look good for the average Joe Six Pack?  This seems a bit like an Evita moment, "I am only a simple woman, who lives to serve McCain in his noble crusade to rescue the people", "I came from the people and they need to adore me, so Cristian Dior me, from my head to my toes. I need to be dazzling", "  Somehow I think the idea of being one of the people has been lost on Sarah Palin and she is now caught up in the moment of being a celebrity and the most popular girl on the block.

Dreams [Jun. 17th, 2008|01:44 pm]
[Current Location |Work]
[mood | contemplative]
[music |Mercy - Duffy]

Why is it that I can not remember ANY of my dreams anymore, there really is nothing I can remember beyond laying my head down at night to waking up in the morning?  I find that odd that I know that I am dreaming but I am not remembering any of it.

Long Overdue [Jun. 16th, 2008|01:14 pm]
Hello and good afternoon to the LJ community, man has it been a long long time since I have even thought about this site let alone post, update or comment to people, I do the same on my myspace page also, I get all gunho for these community interaction sites and then I fail to keep up with it and just become a lurker, lurking about and watching and spying on people's lives, ooohhh I am a online stalker, that isn't a good thing.  Anyway, summer has begun and I am looking forward to it and all, but right now I am rather depressed.  My son, who is 10, isn't home for 2 weeks so I am home all alone.  You would think that would make me want to go out at nights enjoy some free time and get my freak on (haha), since I am a single parent but nope, I stay at home kind of depressed wishing he was here with me.  He is only gone for two weeks, but that happens again in two more weeks, his birth mother and I have summer visitations for two weeks at a time, so two weeks with her, two weeks with me and so on and so forth until school starts up again and then back to my place full time with weekend visits to his mother's house.  I find myself just wishing he was home with me and Father's Day sucked because he wasn't at home with me, instead I got a phone call and an I love with, which was great, but it just reminded me that I have another week to go until I pick him up.

I saw The Happening over the weekend, SKIP IT! ! ! I know M. Night Shyamalan is a hack but I keep going to his movies hoping to get that 6th sense amazement and wonder back.  The movie had some good things about it, but nothing that would make me recommend it to anyone else, glad I only paid $5.00 to see it.

I rented Surveillance 24/7 on netflix the other day, that was a good movie, I enjoyed it but man it sure as hell does show you that big brother is looking around every corner at you, I know the film takes place in the U.K. but it won't belong before we have that type of surveillance here in the states.  Here is a brief description of the movie for anyone who might actually still reading this journal entry: Tom Harper stars in this British thriller as Adam a teacher who becomes headline news when his sexy gay lover turns up dead following their one-night stand, Our hero Adam gets drawn into a web of intrigue as evidence is planted on him of a gay royal affair.

Ok enough about me I found that once I started typing I almost didn't want to stop, but the last thing I want to do is babble on and on....

Have a good one!

CNN News Alert [Feb. 23rd, 2006|09:39 am]
I find it strange that the President built his entire administration on security and terror threats and now when the people actually stand up and take notice, he comes up with this response,

"Referring to debate over foreign operations of U.S. ports, President Bush says "people don't need to worry about security."

If this isn't a reversal on his stance on homeland security I don't know what else to call it?
